Gabija Janiunaite

Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

Hi! My name is Gabija (Ga-bee-a). My pronouns are she/her. I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor (MNCPS Accred.). I want to share a bit about how I work to help you decide if we’d be a good match for therapy together.

Therapy with me

I offer relational and collaborative therapy for adults.

In our sessions, I’m curious to understand what it’s like to be you, with all your unique experiences and perspectives. I aim for balance in our sessions, knowing when to pause and reflect, while also being goal-oriented when needed.

I use an integrative approach called Relational Transactional Analysis. This approach helps you understand your unique story and break free from patterns or narratives that no longer serve you. These may stem from a difficult childhood, past trauma, or life pressures.

In our sessions, we might focus on how you relate to yourself or your experiences, how you interact with others, or perhaps what emerges within your relationships.

I practise with cultural, social, and political awareness, recognising that our mental health is shaped by the world around us.

Areas of particular interest and experience

I help people move from avoidance, inner chaos, fear, self-doubt, and feeling lost, stuck, or disengaged towards greater ease, clarity, liberation, and connection with themselves and others.

I specialise in family, friendship, and romantic relationships - supporting clients through endings, deepening intimacy, and healing relational trauma, including intergenerational patterns.

I work with people going through life transitions.

I’m neurodivergent-affirming and have experience working with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia, as well as visible and invisible disabilities.

I have experience working with addiction.

I’m also open to exploring big existential questions such as freedom, purpose, and the current state of the world.

For couples, we’ll explore how you both feel in the relationship now, where you’d like to be, and any current stresses, past influences, communication patterns, or differences affecting you.

Working together

I usually offer open-ended therapy, meaning the length of therapy will depend on your needs.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes and take place at the same time each week. If you can’t commit to a weekly schedule, please reach out, and we can explore a plan that works for you.
