Karen has over 17 years experience of applying talking therapies such as CBT and Systemic therapy in the NHS in a range of settings for anxiety, depression and difficulties related to sexual health and relationships, alongside specialist expertise in successfully helping individuals and couples overcome sexual problems. These sexual problems may include difficulties such as feeling out of control with sex, concerns about libido, difficulties with maintaining erections, or feeling concerned about sexual choices. She teaches in London and across the UK to psychologists, GPs and other health professionals and supervises other clinicians in their work. She has co-written a series of self-help booklets and developed the UKs only interactive sex therapy website for the NHS. She is a member of the BASHH Special Interest Group in Sexual Dysfunction and the European Society of Sexual Medicine.
Karen is currently the service lead for a sexual problems service for a large Central London NHS Trust, and the Clinical Director of The Havelock Clinic, an independent sexual problems service. She is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council.
Karen enjoys working with individuals and couples of all sexualities and all relationship set ups to help them get where they want to be. She particularly enjoys working with couples with mismatches in desire, clients struggling with getting and keeping erections, individuals concerned about their sexual choices or preferences, and LGBT clients wanting to work towards the ideal sex life for them.
